A royal wedding gift from a Spanish princess to her Austrian royal cousin, carved of wood thinly coated with wax and 19” tall. His left hand holds a miniature globe with a cross on top, signifying the worldwide kingship of Jesus Christ. The right hand is extended in blessing, the first two fingers raised for the two natures of Christ, the folded thumb and last two fingers touch each other for the Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit in the Blessed Trinity. His wardrobe (changed with liturgical seasons) is royal robes and a crown as King of the Universe. Kept in the Carmelite Church in Prague, in 1637 while a Carmelite priest was praying before it, the statue spoke: “Have mercy on me and I will have mercy on you. Give Me hands and I will give you peace. The more you honor Me, the more I will bless you.” Many miracles have occurred through its intercession including children of the city protected in the Church during invasion.
