Handmade original St. Rita of Cascia wooden doll ornament. Perfect for the Christmas Tree. Bring out on her feast day. Gift for a birthday or sacrament (Baptism, First Communion, Confirmation, Holy Orders, Marriage) celebration. Teacher, priest, grandparent gift.

Born in Italy in 1381, she married at thirteen into a difficult marriage and had two sons. After their deaths, she entered a convent where when praying before an image of Christ, she received a forehead stigmata as if pricked by His crown of thorns. She became the patron of impossible causes when nearing death, she requested a single rose from her parent’s garden; although January, a visiting relative found it and returned it to Rita. As an infant, bees swarmed around her without harm; a hive continues to thrive at her convent, only active in Holy Week and her feast day. Her body remains incorrupt. Patron of impossible causes.

Feast Day: May 22

Dressed in her Augustinian community habit with her forehead stigmata, she is pictured with a rose and a beehive to note her relationship with bees. Made of wood, felt, and handmade accessories. Includes tag and card with Saint description. Approximately 4" tall. Packaged in cellophane bag. Shipped in box with bubble wrap.
