Born in Syria in 1860 to pious Orthodox parents, living in Damascus. A good student he was tonsured as a monk in 1879 and selected for scholarship to the School of Theology at Halki. After his deaconate and church service, he studied at the Theological Academy of Kiev. He was ordained to holy priesthood in 1889 and called to serve in New York by the Syrian Orthodox in 1895. He made pastoral journeys across the continent visiting the Orthodox. In 1904 he became the Bishop of Brooklyn, the first Orthodox bishop ordained on American soil, before passing 11 years later. He was known for his dedication to Orthodox teachings to protect his flock from harmful influences.

Made of wood, felt, ribbon, and handmade accessories. Includes tag and card with Saint's biography and description. Approximately 4" tall. Packaged in cellophane bag. Shipped in box with bubble wrap.
