Born in 1603 his mother considered him a nuisance and treated him harshly, as he was slow to learn and absent minded with a bad temper. Tried to join Franciscans and Capuchins, but failed to succeed. Accepted as a servant of the Franciscan monastery, given the friars habit and care of horses. Began to grow in humility and gentleness, improving his work and prayer life. Accepted into the order to become a priest. Amazing miracles worked through him with people witnessing his levitation while offering Mass or praying, so deep in ecstasy with God. Crowds flocked to him for spiritual advice.
