Born in 1253, Ivo served as an ecclesiastical judge and advocate of the poor. Following ordination, he served as a parish priest for 18 years; before daily Mass he would prostrate before the altar, tearfully offering prayers. Preparing sermons on his knees, he often preached about the lives of the saints and kept his breviary and Bible at his side almost constantly. Generously giving his time to hear confessions and bringing Viaticum to the dying, carrying the Eucharist in a silver pyx over his heart. On his deathbed, he kept his eyes fixed upon a crucifix, saying his only doctor was Jesus Christ, repeatedly making the sign of the cross before breathing his last at 50.
