The only woman saint titled “the Great,” she was born in 1256 in Germany. A Benedictine nun, Gertrude had a deep relationship with the Lord, hailed as a mystic and great theologian. Fluent in the Scriptures and the works of the Church Fathers, her visions started at 25 and continued until her death at 45. In one vision she was resting her head on Jesus’ wounded side, hearing his heart beat, and is often shown with the Christ Child sitting on her heart. Her deep devotion to souls in Purgatory included Christ showing her a golden table with pearls on it, representing prayers for the souls. Patron of souls in Purgatory and the West Indies.

Made of wood, felt, ribbon, and handmade accessories. Includes tag and card with Saint's biography and description. Approximately 4" tall. Packaged in cellophane bag. Shipped in box with bubble wrap.
