Born in France in 496, ordained at 34 and Bishop of Paris before his death in 576. The “Bishop of the Poor”, his characteristic virtue of love for the poor manifested so strongly that his monks, fearing he would give everything away, rebelled. Under his influence the worldly King Childebert converted, stamping out pagan practices in Gaul and excessive festival celebrations. After the king received the stole of St. Vincent, the martyr, he erected a church for the relic in Paris. Germain’s relics were moved to the church in the presence of King Pepin and his young son, Charlemagne, in 754, which became known as St. Germain-des-Pres.

Made of wood, felt, ribbon, and handmade accessories. Includes tag and card with Saint's biography and description. Approximately 4" tall. Packaged in cellophane bag. Shipped in box with bubble wrap.
