A mystic born in 1878 in Lucca, Italy, she cared for her seven siblings after parents’ deaths. With poor health, school and the convent were not options. On June 8, 1899, blood and pain came from her hands, feet and heart; the stigmata appeared every Thursday, remaining until late Friday or early Saturday when the bleeding stopped, wounds healed, and only white marks remained in place of deep gashes – became known as the “Daughter of the Passion.” Ties to Passionists order (emblem). Seeing her guardian angel daily, she died of tuberculosis on Holy Saturday.
