Born into nobility in 1384 but desiring to be a nun, she married into wealth at 13 following her father’s order and God’s will. Disliking the societal affairs, she found a spiritual friendship in her sister-in-law. After her mother-in-law died, she managed the estate at 16 and bore three children she loved deeply. Generous to the poor in famine, the estate’s corn and wine were miraculously replenished through her piety. Suffering much through her children’s fate, God sent an archangel to accompany her. Founder of the Oblates of Mary. Patron of drivers (her angel lit her path on evening visits to the poor) and all women.
