Daughter of a martyr, she and husband Basil had 10 children, five of them saints: St. Basil the Great, St. Macrina, St. Peter of Sebaste, St. Gregory of Nyssa, St. Theosebia; thus became known as ”Mother of Saints.” A faithful mother, she instilled the faith, teaching them to pray and live lives in service of God. After suffering the death of a child, reminded by her youngest Macrina to take comfort in the Lord. After her husband died, split her possessions amongst her grown children to find a secluded monastery. Joined by Macrina and a group of female servants asking to join her, created a convent-like home of fasting and poverty; oldest son Peter followed to offer a male community. Buried by husband at their Annesi estate chapel.

Made of wood, felt, ribbon, and handmade accessories. Includes tag and card with Saint description. Approximately 4" tall. Packaged in cellophane bag. Shipped in box with bubble wrap.
