An extremely tall man, Christopher wanted to serve the greatest king he could. Starting with his local ruler who praised the Devil, he found that all feared the Christian cross. A hermit taught him about Christ, the King of Kings, and suggested he find work pleasing to Christ. He offered to help carry travelers across a dangerous river route. One day, a young child asked to be carried. Overwhelmed by the surprising weight of the child, he pressed on, later told that he carried Jesus Christ, who bore the whole weight of the world. He continued to share the faith and was eventually martyred.
