Born in 3rd century Rome to a high class Christian family, she was forced to marry a pagan nobleman who she converted to Christ to keep her virginity. He was martyred and she was arrested burying his body. Refusing to honor the Roman gods, she survived suffocation and beheading, dying three days later from her injuries after receiving Holy Communion. During the trials of her life, she sang to Christ in her heart.
