When Emperor Maxentius began Christian persecutions, she visited him to denounce his cruelty; debated by 50 orators, she was moved by the Holy Spirit speaking eloquently of her faith and many converted. Refusing his marriage proposal to remain a virgin, she was tortured, imprisoned, and scourged before facing a spiked wheel for the worst criminals which shattered when she touched it. Eventually beheaded at 18, angels took her body to Mt. Sinai. Patron of students, unmarried girls, apologists
