Fatima visionary Lucia was the youngest of seven, however the oldest at 10 yrs old of the three shepherd children who witnessed the apparitions of the Blessed virgin Mary in 1917. While her two cousins died shortly after 1917, she lived to 97 and was the one who wrote down the accounts of Fatima. At age 14, she was sent to attend school with the Dorothean Sisters, becoming a sister herself in 1928. In 1946 she transferred to the Carmelite Sisters and took the name Sr. Maria Lucia of the Immaculate Heart. She continued to receive visions from Mary and Jesus throughout her life, including the visions in 1925 that led to the Five First Saturday devotions. She died in 2005 at the convent.
