Born in 1946 in Philadelphia, 1 of 7 children, attending Catholic schools. Joined the Augustinian Order in New York in 1964. In February 1965 his toboggan hit a tree, leaving Bill a quadriplegic confined to a wheelchair. With extensive rehabilitation, desired to continue as an Augustinian. A care team of friars assisted during his formation, allowing him to complete his coursework at Villanova and his ordination in 1974 – almost 9 years after the accident - celebrating his first Mass at Villanova University. From 1975-2004, stationed at St Joseph’s Friary where he taught at his alma mater Msgr Bonner High School as assistant school chaplain, senior class retreat coordinator, moderator of the football team, and director of the detention program (JUG – Justice Under God). A compassionate confessor, he was known for his wonderful sense of humor and excellence in teaching; awarded an honorary doctorate from Villanova in 2000. In 2004, moved to St Thomas Monastery where he passed in 2006.
