Pious nun Sr. Amalia of Jesus Scourged was born in Spain in 1901 to an ancient family of long Christian tradition. Her family moved to Brazil; she followed later after caring for her failing grandmother who passed. She joined seven other nuns in founding the Congregation of the Missionary Sisters of Jesus Crucified.in 1931. When a relative of hers was seriously ill without a cure and they came to Sr. Amalia for prayers, she turned to Jesus in the Tabernacle, asking for His guidance, willing to offer her life in place of the relative. Jesus appeared to her, “If you want to obtain this grace, ask Me for the sake of My Mother’s Tears.” He gave her invocations on how to pray at Amalia’s request, adding, “My daughter, whatever people will beg Me for the sake of the Tears of My Mother, I shall lovingly grant them.” This occurred on November 8, 1929 and exactly four months later, Jesus fulfilled His promise to Sr. Amalia. There is a Chaplet of Our Lady of Tears which she is holding, along with two tears on her face.

Made of wood, felt, ribbon, and handmade accessories. Includes tag and card with Saint description. Approximately 4" tall. Packaged in cellophane bag. Shipped in box with bubble wrap.
