Released due to his ability to interpret Pharaoh’s dreams, finds great favor and made 2nd in command; when predicted famine comes, Egypt prepared with stored food. Jacob’s family resettles in Egypt, unexpectedly reunited with Joseph who supplies them with food. Given Asenath, the daughter of Potiphera, priest of On, to be his wife by Pharaoh. Both of his two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim would receive a blessing from Jacob, however Ephraim’s greater. Before his death at 110, predicted God would visit the children of Israel and lead them out of Egypt to Promised Land.
