Old Testament Jeremiah

Called at 20 to serve God in 627BC, he initially protested. Not allowed to have a family, his life was one of most trial filled existences of any OT prophet; known as “the weeping prophet” (tear) for what he saw, preached and suffered. Wrote the books of Lamentations, Psalm 89, the last part of 2Kings and Jeremiah, the 2nd longest in the Bible.
Proclaimed repentance and turning to God, who commanded him to wear and then send yokes to the kings, warning a takeover by Babylon’s Nebuchadnezzar if they ignored. Told by God others would reject him (including his family who plotted to kill him), he was tortured and taken by Jewish rebels to Egypt to his death in 585BC. Messianic prediction of Holy Innocents’ deaths.
