Devotion to Mary Queen of Apostles is one of the oldest in the Church, traditionally celebrated on the first Saturday after The Ascension, first appears in the oldest version of the Litany of Loreto in the 12th c. and 14th c. A special devotion to all branches of the Pauline Family (priests, brothers, sisters, consecrated): “Mary is Queen of Apostles because she was chosen to be the Mother of Jesus Christ and to give Him to the world; she was made the Apostles’ Mother and our own by our Savior on the cross; she was with the Apostles while awaiting the descent of the Holy Spirit, obtaining from them the abundance of supernatural graces they received on Pentecost.” Biblical roots for this title include Acts 1:13-14 which show Mary in the midst of the Apostles, who were zealous but had their defects, lacking courage, faith, humility and meekness. Mary had every virtue in perfection, especially those of the true missionary-zeal and the spirit of sacrifice - the example and inspiration to convert the world.
