Born in 1879 on a WI farm, the 6th of 16 children to an Irish immigrant family, at 21 he witnessed a drunk assault a woman, which led him to want to make the world better and entered the seminary. Struggling with the German speaking school, he left to join the Capuchin order. Ordained in 1904 a “simple” priest with limited duties, he spent 20 years in NYC and Detroit then 10 years in IN. The monastery porter, thousands sought him for prayers, advice, miracles, healing and prophecy. With Gratitude his hallmark, he opened a doorway to God - “Thank God ahead of time.” He loved the violin but only played in front of the Blessed Sacrament. 20,000 attended his funeral at 86.
